Dr Camila Mont'Alverne
Camila Mont'Alverne holds a PhD in Political Science from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil, where she was a researcher at the Research Group on Media, Politics, and Technology (PONTE/UFPR). During her PhD course, Ms Mont'Alverne was a Visiting Research Student at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. She holds a master's degree in Political Communication from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. In 2017, her master's dissertation was awarded an honourable mention by the Brazilian Association of Political Communication Researchers (Compolítica).
Her main research interests are in the area of Political Communication, focusing on Political Journalism, Media & Elections, and Internet & Politics, with recent publications concerning those themes in Journalism, Journalism Practice, The International Encyclopedia of Journalism Studies, and Brazilian Political Science Journal. She has previously worked as a Political Science Researcher at the Sivis Institute (2019-2020), investigating topics on Political Culture, and assessing the quality of local democracy in Brazilian cities.
