10 Journalist Fellows from 5 continents are joining the Reuters Institute in October 2025

They will each take part in an immersive schedule of seminars, events and discussions, and will complete a project exploring the future of journalism

A global cohort of talented journalists are joining our Fellowship Programme this term to explore the future of their profession. The 10 journalists represent a range of outlets from public broadcasters and digital-first outlets, as well as several freelancers. The group brings a wealth of reporting knowledge from beats including health, conflict, climate and politics. Together, they will take part in seminars, events and networking opportunities with insights from experts at the forefront of journalism and media research. They will each publish an in-depth project designed to address a pressing challenge in their area of journalism. Read more about them and their work:

Vince Chadwick

Vince began his career at The Age newspaper in Melbourne before working in Brussels as a reporter and editor at POLITICO Europe, senior reporter at Devex, and now senior news editor at Euractiv. His project sets out the new landscape of global development funding, asking whether journalism is equipped to hold it to account.

Dante Dallago

Dante is an investigative multimedia journalist who recently graduated with a Master of Science degree from Columbia Journalism School and, before then, a BA in Directing and Peace & Justice Studies from Pace. He covers stories on human rights abuses, migration, conflict, and law enforcement accountability. His project will examine peacebuilding in conflict journalism.

Boryana Dzhambazova

A journalist and media trainer based in Sofia, Bulgaria, Boryana reports on a wide range of topics from politics and economics to human rights and culture. Her work has appeared in multiple international publications, including the New York Times, The Economist, and Politico Europe. Her project looks at how independent outlets Central and Eastern Europe are adapting to the 2025 funding crisis.

Patrick Egwu

Patrick Egwu is a Nigerian freelance investigative journalist and media researcher. He has reported from Johannesburg, Berlin, Chicago and Toronto for outlets including Foreign Policy, America Magazine, Reuters Institute, World Politics Review and more. His project will document Nigeria’s unique investigative journalism techniques.

Salla-Rosa Gröhn

Salla-Rosa Gröhn is a producer and writer working for the Finnish public broadcaster, Yle. She specialises in social media journalism that engages young, “hard-to-reach" audiences. Her project focuses on the role of content creators in driving information literacy.

Banjot Kaur

Health journalist, The Wire

Banjot has over 15 years’ experience as a health journalist in India. Her work has exposed TB drug shortages, toxic cough syrups, weak COVID sequencing, and how Asia’s largest slum controlled the spread of COVID-19. Her work has been featured on PBS, BBC, Ravish Kumar's Prime Time, Newslaundry and at top conferences. Her project looks at how to combat health misinformation.

William is radio producer and reporter who worked for many years on the BBC’s constructive news programme, People Fixing the World. He recently oversaw the production of "easy news" bulletins for the BBC, piloting formats in video, text and social media. He will be researching how to make news with and for people with intellectual disabilities.

Adriana Navarro Ramírez

Adriana is an independent Mexican journalist specialising in environment, conservation, and climate change. Winner of the German Walter Reuter Journalism Award and the INAI National Journalism Award, she is the author of five books on the Mesoamerican Reef System. Her project unpacks the environmental impact of reforms to Amparo Law.

Shatha Yaish is a Palestinian journalist and the West Bank reporter for +972 Magazine. She has reported extensively across the Middle East, working with Agence France-Presse in Jerusalem, Dubai, and Nicosia, covering Israel, Palestine, the Gulf, and Yemen. Her project will chronicle how the Gaza War has reshaped trust in traditional journalism.
