I'm a freelance journalist and media expert, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. I report on a wide range of topics – from economic and political developments to social affairs and human rights issues. My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Economist, and Politico Europe, among others.
Alongside journalism, I have developed expertise in media research and press freedom, with a focus on strengthening independent media in Bulgaria. Since 2016, I have been an active member of the Association of European Journalists in Bulgaria, a Sofia-based media non-profit, and served two terms on its board. In this role, I have led a number of projects aimed at advancing media freedom in Bulgaria and the Balkans, designing training curricula, and mentoring the next generation of Bulgarian journalists.
While I enjoy research and analysis, I remain most inspired by field reporting and connecting with people on the ground.
