Nabeelah Shabbir is freelance journalist, and also currently Deputy Director of Research at the International Center of Journalists (ICFJ). She was previously Conversation Editor at the Correspondent and has also worked at the Guardian, where she shared a British Journalism Award in 2015 with the 'Keep it in the Ground' team. She also won a 'European Young Journalist award' for her writing in Kosovo in 2008. She is co-author of a series of Reuters Institute reports on digital-born news media in Europe, and has freelanced at the Financial Times and Twitter amongst others. She writes about digital media, environmental coverage and European affairs.
