Pushback: Democracies delegitimising a free press

Paper by Journalist Fellow James Miles

In this Journalist Fellow paper, James Miles, looks at how legislation in Denmark is having a negative effect on press freedom in the country. He finds also that a rapid decline in the number of journalists working in the country, and a rise of communications professionals some of whose role is to de-legitimise the media, is making the job of journalists to question and challenge government and authority more difficult.
