Some of the most technologically-developed media markets are in the Asia-Pacific region, where places like Hong Kong and Singapore combine high levels of internet access, young populations, wide use of smartphones, and very high levels of social media use with local publishers who often continue to retain a strong direct connection with audiences.
November 1, RISJ Director of Research Rasmus Kleis Nielsen spoke with Professor Francis Lee at the World Association of Newspapers’ 2017 Digital Media Asia conference in Singapore, presenting these and other key findings from the recently published Asia-Pacific Supplementary Digital News Report.
The panel included Thomas Jacob (Chief Operating Officer, WAN-IFRA) and Sue Brooks (Global Head of Product, Reuters) Aand was moderated by Gilles Demptos (Director Asia, WAN-IFRA).
