
Ramaa Sharma is an award-winning media leader, consultant, executive coach, and journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry. She spent 17 of those years at the BBC, serving as a Senior Digital Executive in News. She also leads Inclusive Story AI, a project exploring how artificial intelligence can drive inclusive journalism and mitigate bias in AI systems.
During her tenure at the BBC, Ramaa spearheaded large- scale digital transformation and innovation initiatives, and edited numerous award-winning multimedia journalism projects. She worked to the Director-General’s office for the Online Creative Review and provided a Digital Leadership programme to the World Service Board. In 2020, she devised and led a Race & Inclusion initiative for the BBC’s News Board.
Combining her expertise in leadership, media innovation and coaching, Ramaa now provides C-suite level executive coaching, digital consultancy, inclusive AI literacy, and inclusive leadership training, along with CIPD sessions for leaders and fellow coaches.
Ramaa also serves on the faculty of Oxford University’s Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Since 2021, she has delivered leadership courses, facilitated group coaching sessions, and hosted Inclusive Leadership workshops at the Institute. She most recently co-authored the Leading Newsroom Change report on Diversity & AI and presented a podcast series on “Authentic Leadership.”
