Associate Professor of Journalism at the Jack J. Valenti School of Communication, University of Houston. Her research looks at digital news innovation; right-wing populism; political polarisation; and the impact of politics, religion, culture when covering terrorism.
At the Reuters Institute, she is focusing on the rise of populist journalism, including analyses of far-right critiques of the news media, their impact on trust in the media, and how the media should respond.
