Judith Argila
Judith Argila is a journalist focused on analysing and creating strategies for digital media consumption, especially for news distribution on third party platforms.
Since 2008, she has worked at Televisió de Catalunya (TV3) and Catalunya Ràdio, the main broadcasting companies in Catalunya, Spain. As Head of New Platforms, Judith identified opportunities for television and radio content distribution via key new platforms for the media industry, from social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram) and streaming or podcast services (Spotify, iTunes, YouTube). Judith and her team developed ad hoc strategies and offered tuition and assessment for hundreds of co-workers, from commercial and marketing departments to reporters, anchormen and correspondents in newsrooms.
Judith has also led digital product development, including websites, information visualisation and analytics tools, and second-screen mobile apps.
Judith is an occasional speaker at media industry conferences and sporadically teaches at several universities, offering masterclasses about social media distribution, new television consumption, analytics and visual information codification.
Judith holds a degree in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a Postgraduate degree in Information Visualisation by Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and an MSc in Information Society by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
In her spare time, Judith loves travelling wherever, yoga, cooking and eating and biking under the blue Barcelona sky.
