Jiri Zatloukal
Jiri Zatloukal is a Business Reporter with the Czech weekly magazine TYDEN (The Week). He is currently Deputy Head of the Economic Desk in TYDEN magazine where he covers major business players in the region and their often tangled relations with the political elite. He also delivers interviews with foreign economists. Jiri has been the key contributor to the list of the wealthiest people in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2012, he was selected to join the Journalist Fellowship Program in South Korea organized by the European Journalism Centre in conjunction with the Korea Press Foundation.
Previously, Jiri worked for the Czech Public Radio and at Jagellonian University in Cracow (Poland), where he started his career teaching language and cultural studies to polish students. He is the author of a Ph.D. thesis called Parisian monthly paper Kultura and the Essayists which deals with Polish political opposition in the period between the end of the Second World War and the end of the 1960s. He has received scholarships in both Paris (Institut Littéraire) and at the University of Bern.
