The changing business of journalism and its role in democracy

This project explored the primary challenges to commercially funded journalism in six developed economies (Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States) and two emerging economies (Brazil and India). It investigated differing industry and policy responses and the implications of these for democracy and accountability in the target countries.
