Proposition: "Journalism coarsens, simplifies and distorts politics (and the new media won't be any better)"

With over 94,000 publications and 300 FM radio stations, India breaks records for the quantity of media produced by a single country. Arijit Sen says that this abundance of voices makes it difficult to take a definitive stance on the proposition. While there are a number of dependable and reputable publications, a majority of companies do not demonstrate rigorous journalistic integrity, diluting the quality of information that reaches the public.
