Davide Lerner
Davide Lerner is an Italian journalist. He has an M.A. degree from Columbia Journalism School, where he was 2024 recipient of the James Wechsler award for international reporting and first best thesis prize. He reports for the Italian daily "Domani" and is a radio presenter with RAI, the national public broadcasting company of Italy, with a focus on foreign affairs.
His new book "Il Sentiero dei Dieci, una Storia fra Israele e Gaza" (The path of the ten, a story between Israel and Gaza), October 2024, Mondadori, uses long-form narrative style to explore the past, present and future of Netiv Ha'asara, Israel's closest community to the Gaza strip, through interviews with dozens of residents spanning across three generations and first hand reports from the village which is currently a closed military area.
Previously, Davide spent three years as a news and features desk editor at Haaretz.com in Tel Aviv while also contributing around 50 different articles. Over the years his work has appeared in several Italian and international outlets including the Financial Times, Politico, Associated Press, AFP, Repubblica. He reported from the West Bank, Gaza, Moldova on the Ukraine border, Lebanon, Turkey, among other places.
Davide will explore Israeli media coverage of the war in Gaza.
