Seth Lewis is the founding holder of the Shirley Papé Chair in Emerging Media in the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon, and is an affiliated fellow of the Information Society Project at Yale Law School. He has held other positions at University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and Stanford. He has twice won the International Communication Association’s award for Outstanding Article of the Year in Journalism Studies.

During his fellowship he is looking at the lived experience of news—what it means for people to encounter, engage with, and make sense of news as a part of their everyday lives, both for audiences and journalists.
