
A recipient of three Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism, Sashka now serves as standards editor for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Content Division.
In this role, she works to safeguard truth and trust in the ABC's storytelling by promoting and enhancing journalism standards, ethics, and legal compliance. She is also the divisional editorial lead for the ABC's responsible use of AI, and the executive manager of the ABC's Media Watch programme, a weekly show that calls out bad journalism and holds the media industry's most powerful to account.
Committed to building a more diverse media industry, she manages a small team working on strategies to build new talent.
Sashka has spent more than two decades in journalism producing documentaries and current affairs programmes from around the world. In 2020 she was the recipient of Australia's Asia Reporting Fellowship where she examined press freedom in Hong Kong.
