Oumar Zombre
Oumar has worked as a journalist in Burkina Faso for 12 years, including seven years at the national broadcaster as a TV anchor. He also works as a freelance reporter, contributing to reports for international outlets including the New York Times.
Oumar has been embedded several times with national forces and with Operation Barkhane during anti-terrorism operations in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
He has won several national and international awards for his coverage, including PaxSahel Award for Peace Journalismin 2020, 2019 African Investigative journalism Awards, 2019 Accountability and citizen monitoring Award, 2018 Archi'Plume: Housing reporting Award.
Oumar Zombre has also worked as a consultant on two projects for the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime and was recognized for his work exposing a pyramid scheme.
