Lea is an investigative reporter with Süddeutsche Zeitung, specializing in OSINT. She mostly covers conflict zones, cybersecurity, disinformation and #MeToo. She has been awarded the Franco-German Journalism Prize and was named one of Germany's "Top 30 journalists under 30".

Lea Weinmann is an investigative reporter with Süddeutsche Zeitung. She specializes in Open Source investigations (OSINT), mostly covering conflict zones, cybersecurity, disinformation and #MeToo. Before joining Süddeutsche Zeitung as a trainee in 2020, she studied crossmedia journalism and freelanced for various German media outlets, including the public broadcasting service SWR, Stuttgarter Zeitung, and Correctiv.

She has been nominated several times for the German Reporter Award, has been awarded the Franco-German Journalism Prize and was named one of Medium Magazin's "Top 30 journalists under 30" in 2024. She regularly gives lectures and teaches at journalism schools on OSINT and verification methods.
