Jazmin Acuña is a journalist from Paraguay. She is co-founder and editorial director of El Surtidor, a news outlet that specializes in visual journalism. With over ten years of experience in the information and media ecosystem, she has spearheaded projects for information access and campaigns advocating for human rights on the Internet. Through El Surtidor, she has championed journalism tailored for young audiences and guided her team to specialize in covering the climate crisis, gender, misinformation, and abuses of power. The outlet has garnered several recognitions, including the Gabo Award for innovation in 2018, the Ortega y Gasset Award for excellence in investigation as part of the regional team of Transnacionales de la Fe, led by El Clip; finalist for the International Press Institute Free Media Pioneer Award in 2023; and finalist for the Sigma Awards in 2024.
