Francisca Skoknic
Francisca is the editor and a co-creator of LaBot, a journalism platform that includes a news chatbot, a newsletter and investigative reporting outlet. She is the former director of the Diego Portales University's journalism school and prior to that was the deputy director of CIPER, a Chilean center for investigative journalism. Before joining CIPER she worked for several publications in Chile covering politics, economics and social issues.
Skoknic has received the Excellence in Journalism Award three times (2008, 2018 and 2021). In 2021 she also received the Lenka Franulic Award, which recognizes career achievement in female journalists.
She is part of the network of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
She studied Journalism at Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University, where she concentrated on economic and political development and specialized in international media.
