Christoph Schlemmer
Christoph Schlemmer is a business reporter for the Austria Press Agency (APA) in Vienna. He has worked as a full-time journalist for APA since October 2010. His duties range from business and financial reporting to managing the news desk, additionally he is specialising in agriculture and food industry, labour market issues, retail and start-ups.
From October to December 2011 Schlemmer held the post of APA’s exchange EU correspondent in Brussels, where he reported on several councils and crisis summits concerning Greece. Schlemmer was ranked in the 2013 Best 30 journalists under 30 list, published by the media industry journal “Der Österreichische Journalist”. Since March 2015 he has been part of APA’s news team covering the wind-down of Austrian Hypo Alpe Adria Bank/Heta and the Parliamentary Investigating Committee. The Hypo scandal is Europe’s test case for new rules bailing in creditors when a lender goes bust.
