Carol Francis is a seasoned media professional based in Jamaica, West Indies, with over 30 years of experience in radio and television journalism. Her distinguished career spans diverse formats, including news, current affairs, and documentaries, highlighting her exceptional storytelling skills and versatility.
Throughout her career, Carol has demonstrated mastery across various media, earning a reputation as a versatile and accomplished journalist. She is a multi-award-winning journalist recognized for excellence in environmental reporting, cultural stories, and human-interest features, at the national, regional and international levels reflecting her excellence in the field.
Currently, she serves as Programmes Manager at the lone television public service broadcasting station, The Public broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ). There she oversees the development of policies, editorial standards, and innovative programming strategies to strengthen Public Service Broadcasting in Jamaica.
Beyond her journalism career, Carol has contributed significantly to Jamaica’s broadcast landscape, notably playing a key role in establishing the island's firstever television broadcast history museum—a pioneering digital platform that showcases Jamaica’s rich media heritage. This innovative initiative has garnered widespread acclaim for its approach to preserving and sharing Jamaica’s cultural history.
