Alexandra Vladimirova

Alexandra Vladimirova is a journalist from Russia with over ten years’ experience covering sports, economics, culture and social issues.

She has previously worked as a reporter and columnist for Russia’s biggest news agency RIA Novosti, "Russian Reporter" magazine and several other prominent Russian printed publications. Alexandra also worked for two Russian sports TV channels where she authored documentaries about prominent sportspeople past and present. Alexandra has reported from numerous major sporting events including the 2012 Olympics in London, the 2016 Olympics in Rio, and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Since October 2016, Alexandra has been a freelance journalist, writing for several Russian independent media outlets. Her work during this time has included a series of investigations about corruption and the influence of politics in Russian sports for Riga-based, online Russian language newspaper, Meduza.

Alexandra studied journalism at Moscow State University and History of Arts at the Russian State University for the Humanities.
