Nielsen lectures in Porto

On February 28 and March 1, Reuters Institute Research Fellow Rasmus Kleis Nielsen delivered two lectures to students and faculty of the Centro de Estudos das Tecnologias e Ciências da Comunicação at the University of Porto.The first lecture dealt with the role of "mundane internet tools" in processes of political mobilization, based on Dr. Nielsen's research on American electoral campaigns, published in journals like New Media & Society and Journal of Information Technology & Politics. The second lecture addressed the question "Will the internet kill the newspaper?" on the basis of ongoing research following up on our 2010 book "The Changing Business of Journalism and its Implications for Democracy".
