Google announces increased support for Reuters Institute Digital News Report

Today’s announcement of a Europe-wide Digital News Initiative established by Google is set to include increased support for the Reuters Institute Digital News Report from 2016.

Director David Levy said: “The annual Reuters Institute Digital News Report has become indispensable to the industry to better understand trends and consumption internationally. This report has been supported by Google since 2013, along with a wide range of other partners. We are delighted that Google’s increased funding over the next three years will enable us to expand the coverage of the report to include 20 European countries.

"At a time of unprecedented change we look forward to developing the definitive pan-European study tracking the transition to digital news and creating an invaluable resource for industry leaders, journalists, and researchers.”
