We are delighted to announce that Anita Zielina will join the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford as a Visiting Fellow, starting in October 2018. Until recently Anita was Chief Product Officer and member of the management board at Neue Zürcher Zeitung Media Group in Zurich. There she was responsible for all digital products.

Her work in Oxford will focus on change management and digital transformation in news organisations. She is particularly interested in the leadership skills that are conducive to implementing this change. “We are very much looking forward to working with Anita at the Reuters Institute”, says Alexandra Borchardt, Director of Strategic Development. “She brings to the table a combination of experience, insights and energy that will advance our work and will be highly appreciated by us, our fellows and guests alike.”

Before joining NZZ Anita held roles as digital editor and deputy Editor-in-Chief at Stern, the German weekly news magazine published by Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg, and the newspaper Der Standard in Vienna, Austria. In 2012, Anita was the first Austrian journalist selected for the one-year Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, dedicated to entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership in journalism. There her research focused on innovation management in the media and on audience engagement. Anita holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France (2017) and a Master in Law from Vienna University (2006).
