Events and Fellowship Officer (Maternity Cover)
The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) is seeking a well organised Events and Fellowship Officer to join their busy administrative team based in Norham Gardens, Oxford. The RISJ organises circa 70 events per year, including annual lectures, academic and industry conferences, executive education programmes, book launches and regular seminars. In September 2018 the Institute will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its Fellowship Programme, with a major 3-day reunion weekend. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organisation, management and delivery of this important event.
The renowned 34-year-old Journalism Fellowship Programme brings mid-career journalists to Oxford to improve their knowledge and to study issues important to their professional development. Around 25 journalists from around the globe study in Oxford each year on Fellowships covering one, two or all three terms of the academic year. Providing administrative support to this programme and its admission process as well as managing the institute’s highprofile events, the post holder will represent the institute as the main point of advice and support for the Director, VIP speakers, and other senior colleagues.
The post is full-time, fixed-term for one year and available from 11th September 2017.
