Wincott Foundation Fellowship

The Wincott Foundation is a long term supporter of our Journalism Fellowship Programme.

From 1995 to 2015, the Wincott Foundation sponsored economic and business journalists from Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia. Since then the Wincott Founcation Fellowship has changed its geographical focus and now works with the Nation Media Group in Kenya to send one journalist per year to the Reuters Institute. Applications are made directly to the Nation Media Group.

The Fellowship covers Programme fees, a modest living allowance of £2,000 per month and return travel expenses to the UK.

The Wincott Foundation seeks to contribute to a better understanding of economic issues, principally by supporting and encouraging high-quality economic, financial and business journalism, in the UK and internationally.

The Foundation believes that the media - print, broadcast and on-line - have an important role to play in reporting, explaining and commenting on economic and business developments. Accurate, objective and well-informed economic reporting and analysis in the media are essential ingredients of a well-functioning market economy.
