Ms Sore holds an MA in Sciences, Information and Communication Strategies from Ouagadougou University, Burkina Faso. She also holds a University Degree in Multi Media Communication from both Ouagadougou University, Burkina Faso and Mans University, France. She has been a journalist at L’Evenement, a biweekly newspaper of Burkina Faso since 2001. Ms Sore began her career as a trainee at the newspaper Le Pays, Burkina Faso in 2000. During the last eight years she has won a string of awards and distinctions. Among these awards is the prestigious CNN Multi-choice award, received in 2006 on the topic of homosexuality in Burkina Faso, as well as recently obtaining the Reuters IUCN Media award for an environmental story in 2008. She has been the target of violent reactions as a result of her writing about taboo topics in Burkina Faso. Ms Sore is a passionate journalist who says, “I think journalism, it is my way,” as evident from her writing.
