Tanit Koch was the first female editor of the popular German tabloid newspaper, BILD. She edited the paper between 2016 and 2018, during the height of Europe's refugee crisis and the rise of Germany's far-right party, the AfD. 

Tanit joined Axel Springer Journalism School in 2005 and received her journalistic training at politics/business desk of BILD. Between 2007 and 2015 she held various positions at Axel Springer SE Copy Chief, Senior Editor WELT Group, Bureau Chief BILD HAMBURG, Deputy Editor BILD) and became Editor-in-Chief of the print edition of BILD in January 2016.

Tanit Koch holds degrees in Law and Political Science. She is a board Member of Deutschlandstiftung Integration, Atlantikbrücke Young Leader and Friedrich Naumann Stiftung alumna.
